Extreme heat in the Arizona desert has canceled a pair of American Airlines flights at Meadows Field. The two flights between Meadows and Sky Harbor airports were set to arrive and depart in Bakersfield in the 4:00 PM hour Tuesday, but the planes are only rated to fly at temperatures up to 118 degrees and it was 120 in Phoenix. Numerous flights out of PHX were called off.
