CHIEF REMEMBERS ERSKINE FIRE

Friday marks the one year anniversary of the Erskine Fire, which destroyed 257 homes and killed two people near Lake Isabella.

Kern County Fire Chief Brian Marshall says he knew there was big trouble when the fire crested over Cook’s Peak, but he’s proud of what firefighters were able to do, including saving thousands of homes.

The worst fire in county history burned 47,000 acres before it was put out.
