State Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon has pulled the plug on a single-payer healthcare bill.The measure would have paid for coverage for everyone. The LA area Democrat says Senate Bill 562 is woefully incomplete, noting funding is not in place for its $400-Billion cost. The Speaker says the bill will be held in committee, essentially terminating it for this year.
