An 8-year-old girl from Merced has been killed in an accident on Highway 58 at General Beale Road. The CHP says a woman allowed her car to drift into the center divide Saturday afternoon as she drove at 70 to 80 miles an hour, then the car rolled and ejected three young children. The driver and two surviving children were hospitalized with moderate injuries.
