FIRE SMOKES OUT BUILDING AGAIN

A central Bakersfield commercial building has caught on fire for the second time in a month.

The flames started around 2:00 Wednesday afternoon on South H Street and Brundage Lane before spreading to the roof of a nearby Autozone store. City Fire Battalion Chief John Frando was surprised to be out there again because there was no electrical hookups in the structure.

Arson investigators do not know what caused Wednesday’s two-alarm fire or the original one in May. There were no injuries.
