A woman’s body has been pulled from a downtown Bakersfield canal in the third suspected canal drowning within two weeks. A caller reported seeing someone in distress in the water at 21st and Oak streets before 5:00 Monday afternoon, city firefighters think the victim may have been swimming before she died.
