Bakersfield firefighters were called to assist a man who’d gotten stranded in some bushes on the Kern River near Lake Ming. That victim was rafting with a second person when their boat was punctured and deflated just before 8pm Tuesday. The second man got out on his own, life vests are credited with helping them survive the strong current.
