An 18-year-old man suspected in a shooting near East Sherwood Avenue in McFarland has been arrested by police and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team. Chief Scot Kimble says Samuel Alaniz was located following a search Monday morning on San Pedro Street. The accused has been booked for attempted murder, gun and gang charges, he’s due in court Wednesday and is being held on $725-thousand bail.
