A former Sheriff’s deputy convicted of assaulting his wife and mother has been given five years probation and time served in jail. Deputy District Attorney Tamara Tuivaiti agrees with Judge John Somers’ decision Tuesday morning on 28-year-old Gideon Allday.  The defendant was charged with choking and striking his wife at their northwest Bakersfield home in May last year then attacking his mom at a skating rink that Thanksgiving.
