A Navy veteran from World War II has celebrated her 100th birthday at the monthly Honor Flight Breakfast in downtown Bakersfield. Miriam Kann says she was overwhelmed when she saw a large turnout of people who took part in her special day. Kann served in the Bay Area training new pilots using a Link Flight simulator and was one of the first women to volunteer for military service.

Chuck Allen
