A local healthcare company has put up signs in English and Spanish asking people to keep out of the Kern River.

Clinica Sierra Vista CEO Steve Schilling wants the billboards to be visible to tourists, who have made up the majority of the 14 deaths there this year. Schilling also hopes patients use the signs to warn their out-of-town relatives, who are the most likely to go into the river.
