House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy has interviewed several men and women at Bakersfield College for the Veterans History Project. McCarthy says those discussions are archived in the Library of Congress for the next generation and today’s society. One of the men interviewed was Augustine Flores, a 94-year-old Marine who landed on Iwo Jima during World War II.
