House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy says Kern County and the country need a guest-worker program that functions correctly. He spoke with KUZZ News last week after the President announced plans to give preference to immigrants with specific skills and who speak English, and cut the number of low-skilled immigrants who can get green cards. McCarthy says also health insurance premiums need to be lowered and consumers need more choices.
