Eighteen permanent signs will be put up around Hart Park and Lake Ming warning people to keep out of the Kern River.

Supervisors approved the $4,700 project Tuesday because there have been at least 13 deaths in the waterway and more than 120 rescues this year.

The red, black, and yellow signs will be in English and Spanish.
