A woman has been killed and a man is in the hospital with minor injuries after he crashed their sedan into the back of a semi in southwest Bakersfield.

Police say the driver was going around 70MPH Monday afternoon when he tried to pass another sedan on District Boulevard and Ashe Road then lost control of the car and went into the big rig. The semi was parked in the left hand turn lane as it waited to get into the Nestle plant.

The driver may face vehicular manslaughter charges.
