A man has been arrested after bomb making components that were found inside a vehicle prompted a call to the fire department’s hazmat team. Bakersfield Police Detective Ryan Vaughn says two people related to 58-year-old Ronald McVay brought items they believed to be suspicious to headquarters early Tuesday morning, forcing BPD to shut down Eye Street at Truxtun Avenue. McVay was booked on charges including possession of a destructive device.
