Kids in the Bakersfield City School District and most others will be kept inside classes between 9:00 and noon until the eclipse is completely over. Teachers in the KHSD are aware of safety concerns and will offer appropriate lessons with their students. Veterinians say dogs have enough sense not to look at the sun in the first place.
