ONE OF THE HOTTEST ON RECORD

The National Weather Service says Bakersfield has cracked the top 10 hottest summers on record with 58 days of 100-degree temperatures this year and counting.

Meteorologist Jim Bagnall says they have also issued a very high heat risk warning on Monday because the nights are not cooling off, which puts everyone at risk for heat-related illnesses. Bagnall says the high pressure system that is causing the heat will not move out of our area for the next few days.

The extreme heat advisories continue on Tuesday.
