The Public Health Department is offering a skin test that detects whether you have developed an immune response to the fungus that causes Valley Fever. Spokesperson Michelle Corson says results are usually determined within 48 hours. She says you don’t need a doctor’s referral and the test is available at the clinic on Mt. Vernon Avenue for $77, some people with a positive result have been sick with the disease.
