Several local football games are canceled or delayed by the extreme heat, including Friday games in the Kern High School District, McFarland, and Taft. The Bakersfield Christian Eagles will still play their away game in Visalia while the Warriors take the field in Tehachapi.

Bakersfield College has pushed its home opener on Saturday back to 8:00p.m. due to the high temperatures.
