MCFARLAND SWAT SUSPECT MAKES A DEAL

The man who caused a 15-hour SWAT standoff in McFarland has taken a deal with prosecutors.

Samuel Gonzalez pleaded no contest to assaulting a peace officer with a semiautomatic weapon during the incident last October on Kendrea Street. He shot at a Sheriff’s SWAT team when they used tear gas to try and get him out of the apartment.

He faces 30 years in prison at his sentencing next month.
