The Caldwell Fire that’s north of Kernville has burned more than 1,300 acres in grass and brush, but no structures are threatened in the remote area. Fire managers say air tankers and helicopters are supporting firefighters on the ground with retardant and water drops. The fire is 90% contained as of Monday night.
