CATHOLICS RESPOND TO DACA

Local Catholic churches say they have been linking parishioners with lawyers even before President Trump decided to phase out the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program.

Archdiocese of Fresno Chancellor Teresa Dominguez says the information sheets passed out last Sunday are meant to comfort families by providing them with a breakdown of their legal rights. Dominguez says they have also launched “rapid response teams” to help so-called Dreamers solve immediate legal problems.

DACA protected immigrants who were brought here as children from deportation.
