Bakersfield Police have begun a series of information sessions to find new recruits.

The department is looking to fill dozens of positions within the next year that opened up due to several retirements. The sessions are intended to help applicants know what to expect at the police academy. The next ones take place at these locations, dates, and times:

BPD Westside Substation, 1301 Buena Vista Road:

September 8th from 6:00-7:30p.m.

September 9th from 10:00-11:30 a.m. and 5:00-6:30p.m.

Bakersfield College, Forum Room #101, 1801 Panorama Drive:

September 9th from 10:00-11:30a.m. and 5:00-6:30p.m.
