The Bakersfield man accused of killing his girlfriend in a DUI accident has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

19-year-old Richard Prosser, Jr. flipped his pickup on Noreiga Road near Allen Road last year, ejecting Krystul Hazelwood. Deputy District Attorney Garrett Rice says both families had pushed for a deal to avoid a trial.

Prosser will get 11 years in prison at his sentencing next month.
