One person is dead and two have minor injuries after a fire tore through a mobile home in Lamont. It started around 2:40 Monday morning on Gregory Avenue between Myrtle Avenue and Habecker Road, and Kern County Fire Captain Jason Knaggs says the home did have smoke detectors. Two other homes have some minor smoke damage but firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading, the cause is under investigation.
