Memorial Hospital in central Bakersfield has cut the ribbon on the first emergency room for children in Kern County.

The Children’s Pavilion is next to the main ER but features child-sized beds, medical equipment, and brightly colored walls and pictures. Parents can also check-in online before they get to the hospital to speed up treatment.
