A $204 million dollar contract has been awarded to construct modifications to the Isabella Lake Dam northeast of Bakersfield. The US Army Corps of Engineers says the decision will address identified over-topping, seismic and seepage concerns. Plans include excavation of a new emergency spillway and a 16-foot raise of the main dam.
