LOCALS DEAL WITH ROUTE 91 PTSD

Mental health workers say local survivors of the Route 91 festival shooting may be dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Bakersfield Veteran Center Director Joe Acosta says people who have never been on a battlefield can get PTSD, which is triggered by a memory of any traumatic event whether it happened to you or someone else.

Symptoms like anxiety, flashbacks, and sleep problems can show up three days after the event. Acosta says they have been fielding calls and recommends speaking with a professional as soon as possible.
