BC TRAINS FOR ACTIVE SHOOTER

Bakersfield College moved up its active shooter training after the Route 91 Festival attack in Las Vegas.

Public Safety Chief Chris Counts says he hopes Thursday’s presentation gets students and staff to speak up before tragedy strikes because most mass shooters have someone in their lives who suspect something beforehand.

Counts says they will study what happened in Vegas to improve their response times. The school hosts between four and six active shooter trainings every year.
