Salty’s BBQ in Bakersfield is hosting a fundraiser on Sunday for one of its employees, whose father was killed in the Route 91 festival attack.

Owner Jeff Salters wants to raise as much as possible for the family of Jack Beaton, who died shielding his wife from the gunfire. The restaurant will contribute 10% of its sales, all server tips, and will have a donation jar at both locations for those who do not want any barbeque.

The Doghouse Saloon in Tehachapi will be holding their own fundraiser on Saturday for Rachel Sheppard, who is still in critical condition after the Las Vegas shooting. It starts at 11:00 a.m. and will include a candlelight vigil for the victims.
