Mercy Hospital Dignity Health in downtown Bakersfield is the host of the latest, drive-through flu shot clinic, which takes place Saturday, October 7th. It’s from 9:00 to Noon at the hospital parking lot off 16th and D streets and is open to residents 18-years and older on a first-come, first-served basis. The flu can be fatal to people with weakened immune systems, such as the elderly and young children, and the vaccine is effective at reducing the spread of the disease by others. Drive-through clinics are also set for Monday [10/9] from 11:00 to 2:00 at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital on 34th Street, and on Tuesday [10/10] from 4:00 to 6:00 at Mercy Southwest Hospital on Old River Road south of Stockdale Hwy.
