Police have arrested a wanted felon after he led them on a vehicle pursuit before crashing into another car in southwest Bakersfield.

Officers say they tried to stop 29-year-old Gilberto Avalos around 12:18 Monday morning on Akers Road and Soranno Avenue when he sped to Panama Lane, then ran a red light and hit the car.

Both drivers are being treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
