A Bakersfield man says his family was evacuated from the wildfires ravaging Sonoma and Napa counties.
David Brust says his sister Barbara McGee woke up early Monday morning smelling smoke. Her husband stepped out of their house to see the fire coming down the hill towards them. Brust says he then woke up their neighbors so they could evacuate as well.
Four members of Brust’s family had to drive through the fire to leave, but it’s unclear if their residence in Santa Rosa was damaged or destroyed. His mother is staying with him.
