PRISON FOR TAFT ASSAULT

The Santa Maria man convicted of driving to Taft to strangle his ex-lover has been sentenced to five years in prison.

44-year-old Alberto Cisneros used a key to get into the woman’s home in June, but Deputy District Attorney Andi Bridges says he had been abusing the victim, their son and her other child for the past 10 years.

The woman was able to escape with her kids after the assault. Cisneros will also have to stay away from them once he leaves prison.
