Police say a gun found near the scene of a deadly officer-involved shooting in south Bakersfield was one of four that had been stolen last month from an unmarked deputy’s vehicle, and the last one to be recovered.

BPD had been looking for 20-year-old Augustus Crawford in connection with a shooting Saturday night when he ran from a traffic stop two hours later and was shot by Officer Warren Martin, the chief’s son, who’s on leave pending an investigation.
