The Thomas Roads Improvement Program is shutting down an equestrian trail east of Mohawk Street in Bakersfield indefinitely. They say its needed to maintain horse and rider safety during construction improvements of the Kern River Bridge. The closure is near the rail line and part of the first phase of the Centennial Corridor project.
