A fire has damaged a boarded-up home on Santa Rosa Avenue in Lamont that threatened neighboring homes. Kern County Fire says it started just before 5:30 Monday morning near Segrue Road. Crews had searched for possible occupants, none were found. The cause is under investigation and damage was estimated at $40 thousand.
