Bakersfield Police are investigating the murder of a popular young attorney that happened across from Golden Valley High School. Detectives found Marcos Vargas in front of his gated apartment complex on Hosking Avenue just after 3:00 Wednesday morning.

KGET-TV reports Vargas was an attorney with Greater Bakersfield Legal Assistance and was also involved with the Young Lawyers section of the Kern County Bar and the Immigration Justice Collaborative.
