Kern County Fire has deployed a Type 3 strike team to the 70-square mile Thomas Fire in Ventura County, which consists of five engines and crew, as well as two dozers in a Lima strike team and two hand crews. A Facebook post by by the department says 59 personnel are included in the rollout, a post by the union says that complement includes 70 firefighting personnel. Several other agencies joined the effort overnight.
