Houchin Blood Bank in Bakersfield says they’re desperately low on O negative red cells this week and are asking people to step up and donate. Community Support Specialist Carolina Aparicio says the holidays tend to bring a higher demand at hospitals. She says it’s critically important people who are eligible come in to ensure enough supplies are available, the two donor centers are on Truxtun Avenue and Bolthouse Drive.
