The coroner’s office has identified a man whose body was found inside a stolen car on Highway 65 north of Bakersfield as 49-year-old Evmir Evangelista of North Hollywood. An autopsy determined he died from ligature strangulation and was ruled a homicide. Two men were booked on suspicion of murder but the case was sent back to the sheriff’s office.
