Several people who lived at a house in Delano have lost nearly everything to fire.

Kern County firefighters say the flames were discovered Monday night around 10:30 at the home on 20th and Randolf streets after the family saw and smelled the smoke, but there was no working smoke alarm in the house.

The fire was deemed an accident but the house was destroyed.
