CAPK ADDS TRAINING, FINANCIAL LITERACY

The latest survey of the Community Action Partnership of Kern shows there’s been some changes at the social service provider.

CAPK Administrator Sheila Shegos says they added more job training programs last year because rural residents face 20% unemployment. CAPK also added financial literacy classes to its Head Start program to help families get off public assistance.

The organization serves more than 10,000 people every year.
