The American Civil Liberties Union is suing the city of Bakersfield over a police traffic stop they allege was racially-motivated and unconstitutional. The ACLU says officers pulled over Robert Mitchell and three other black men last March for a low-hanging air freshener then demanded personal information before arresting him.

BPD and the city are not commenting on the lawsuit.
