OVERNIGHT CHECKPOINT NETS TWO

Bakersfield Police have made two DUI arrests and cited 90 drivers for not having a license or driving with a suspended license at an overnight checkpoint. In all, police screened more than 13-hundred vehicles starting Friday night along Union Avenue just east of California Avenue in an ongoing campaign targeting trouble spots around the city. The checkpoints are funded by a grant from the state Office of Traffic Safety.
