SENTENCE FOR KERN COUNTY POT GROWS

A 22-year-old Riverside man has been sentenced to over three years in prison for two large-scale marijuana grows in Kern County. Ten agencies were part of the operation that led to the arrests of Sair Maldonado and his girlfriend for the sites in the Lucas Creek and Box 6 areas of the Sequoia National Forest. He will also have to pay for the damage from toxic pesticides, miles of plastic pipe, and the destruction of trees and plants.
