A police K-9 who retired from the McFarland Police Department in January of last year ago has passed. Ringo was a black Labrador Retriever who could sniff out narcotics and contraband, as well as run down suspects for officers and go places they could not. Ringo was so valuable that he was often called upon to assist other agencies, and was part of a highway drug trafficking task force. Ringo died March 7th at the home he shared with handler Officer Jerrod Place.
