A man is dead after his van slammed head-on into a semi on Wheeler Ridge Road near Arvin. The CHP says 38-year-old Arayik Shma-vonyan from Van Nuys drifted into the big rig’s lane just before 1:30am Tuesday near 1st Street but couldn’t correct in time.
