Construction is underway in Wasco for the High Speed Rail project, as crews lay the foundation for a 102-foot bridge that will cross Garces Highway at Scofield Avenue. Project spokeswoman Toni Tinoco says they’ve already hired 99 local workers. Tinoco says they’ve been moving utilities since last year so they could build the bridge, which should be complete next year.
